my baby take 2 1/2 months vaccine yesterday.. every 6hrs once I give paracetamol pediatric oral suspension.. but fever didn't go.. Shall I wait 1day or when will fever go? or what I do?

A. baby will be alright by today no need to worry.

A. fever is the reaction of immune system response and fever gets subside slowly if still persist u can see the doctor.

A. Thank you doctor.. one doubt.. Shall I give paracetamol for 3hrs once . or it should be 4 to 6hrs..

A. Fever is a reaction of the body to different pyrogens released during any Infection. Usually temp more than 99 F is taken as fever . Mostly in children fever is because of viral infections like flu or RSV where the fever is there for 4-5 days but may persist even upto 2 weeks . Initially antipyretic like paracetamol is given in a dose of 15 mg / kg/ dose. Can be repeated after 4-6 hrs if neebded . Lukewarm spongeg bath can be given as home remedy to decrease fever. Adequate fluid intake is also beneficial. Urine output monitoring is necessary to avoid dehydration .
