Q.

my baby sattwik is 18 months old. he can't stand without support till now. is it normal? why this happens? he had hypoglycemia during his birth. he was in NICU for 31 days. can this lead to brain injury?

A. a baby will start Sitting with support by 6 months of age and by 7 to 8 months baby will sit without support than by 9 months usually baby crawls and in 10 months baby will standch with support. After 12 to 15 months baby will start Walking independently and sometimes it mbay take even longer but in no case any Walker should be avoided as it can cause recurrent fall injury and delay in the walking because the child lacks confidence of walking independently.

A. Maybe there is a delay in the growth of your child so it would be advisable for you to have an assessment with your doctor because mostly by the age of 17 months kids scanned learn to walk independently but there is a delay and it would be advisable to have an assessment with your doctor
