Q.

my baby's weight is 5kg when he was 2 months 16 days old. He doesn't look golu molu. When will he become healthy?

A. Hi mom, your baby weighs good nothing to worry. usually we can expect baby to gain about 500 gm to 1 kg weight in a month, double in 6 months and triple by age of 1 year compared to birth weight, small deviation is absolutely fine. continue exclusive breastfeeding to baby for complete 6 months, maintain good hygiene, follow regular intervals feeding. avoid force feeding and overfeeding.

A. Hi dear Check if baby is gaining adequate weight. In the initial 3 months, babies put on about 1 kg each month. From 3-6 months, weight gain reduces to 1/2 kg/month. from 6-9 months, it becomes 1/3, and for 9-12 months, it settles to 1/4 kg. the birth weight doubles in the 4th month and triples when they reach 12 months of age. If baby s healthy and active that's should be great
