Q.

My baby’s birth weight was 2.98 kg. Now she is 5 months 9 days old and weights 5.9 kg. Is the weight normal? If weight gain is not sufficient can I start giving ragi porridge or fresh juices now?

A. Hello mom babies are expected to almost double their birth weight by the age of 4 to 6 months and then triple by the age of 1 year, yes this is the correct age to introduce the baby to wenaing foods, initially start with liquid consistency foods and gradually as per baby acceptance you can move to semi solids and mashed foods.
