Ensure that baby has a deep latch and mouth alignment is like a sucker fish and baby is effectively suckling and swallowing. To encourage the baby to open mouth wide rub your nipples from the tip of the baby's nose to the bottom of the baby's chin do it repeatedly until the child opens the mouth wide and once the child does open the mouth wide - Cup your breasts on a c shape and gently insert within the baby's mouth. Ensure major portion of areola is within the baby's mouth.
