Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. for big children it is important to increase the physical activity of the child during the daytime and also see that the child is drinking plenty of water and is having a good diet just before sleep but at the same time the diet should be easily digestible and not very heavy diet which is causing more gas formation because that also can lead to digestion problem and that can disturb the sleep.s
also it is important to look for any environmental disturbance which is affecting the sleep like temperature variations as well as the mattress problem.
rule out constdipation which might be causing gastric disturbance and change in sleep pattern

Mostly it’s not advisable to give it to the child child should have its natural sleep so if your doctor suggest you can go for it but try to finalise the energy of the child try to make your child tired and exhausted because after that only I believe the child will sleep for a longer duration
