Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. straining while passing urine and stool is very normal before completion of 6 months of age.
sometimes this can continue for one year of age also.
it usually occurs due to the distention of the urinary bladder and rectum of the child.
the sensation is new for the child that's why the child is crying
if you feel that the crying is more than normal you should visit a pediatrician for examination.
it is totally normal for small children less than 6 months of age not to pass stool for 10 days also.
it is also normal if they are passing stool more than 6 or 7 times per day.
if the consistency of the stool is Sexmi solid to solid there is no need to worry about the frequency as well as the colour (the colour can range from yellow brown green to black) of the stool.
also sxtraining while passing urine and stool is normal.
Do burping for 15 to 20 minutes
