my baby is l having cough and cold and he is 2 months old. can I apply Vicks to his nose and chest?

Cough and cold can we because of some allergic reaction in the body most of the time it is viral in the origin need to give symfptomatic treatment first like steam inhalation and some home remedies cough expectorant may be required along with anti allergic medicatcions
