A. Loose stools in a 5-month-old baby can be normal, especially if the baby is breastfed, as breast milk can cause soft or runny stools. However, if the stools are very frequent, watery, foul-smelling, or if there are signs of dehydration (like dry mouth, less urine, or lethargy), it could indicate diarrhea due to infection, formula intolerance, or other issues. If the baby seems uncomfortable or the loose stools persist, it’s best to consult a pediatrician for proper evaluation.
