Q.

My baby is born with cleft palate (1) is it fine if he takes time in burp. (2) as he sneezes, small qty of thick milk comes out from he’s nose n mouth (from last 2days it has happed 5-6times) is it normal? (3) most of the time he is nt fully awake at the time of milk..mostly he takes milk in sleep...is it ok? (4) what quantity of milk should i give him and at what interval. he is current 2.85kgs approx. (5) what precautions to take with cleft palate...does cleft palate affects babys growth. Thanks

A. Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination. steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest. As a part of viral illness there could be associated symptoms like cough and fever which needs trevatment accordingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintained .

My baby is 1 month 15 days old. milk comes out of his mouth almost after every feed , sometimes the milk is cuddled and sometimes its exactly the same he takes in .I try to hold him upright after every feed for burp . Is it normal that milk comes out of his mouth? and what if he doesn't burp even after holding him upright with patting and rubbing his back ?
