After 15 days or so they will start regaining the weight. Your baby should be peeing anywhere between six to ten times a day which means the baby is taking feeds properly. If not, then u should be alert about the weight loss as it cannot be only due to extra fluid loss but the baby is not feeding properly. Your baby should be peeing anywhere between six to ten times a day which means the baby is taking feeds properly. If not then make sure the baby is latching and taking feeds well or if ur milk supply is sufficient. Also there should be a gradual weight gain. Keep a check on these factors. Based on the babies birth weight and premature delievery his corrected age will be around 1.5 to 2 months, so average weight for this age can be around 4 to 5 kgs.
