my baby is 9days old.his umbilical cord seems to be yellowish at the attached end and it has pus like in it. i am applying mupirocin ointment twice a day. what can i do further to avoid infection.

Consult with your doctor in person for proepr physical examination and treatment
Usually it will correct within one week apply calamine lotion twice daily keep babys surrounding clean and dust free Clean it frequently
Apply coconut oil or olive oil twice daily
