Q.

My baby is 8 months. 15 days back she had cold, runny nose, coughing and low grade fever. She has now recovered. But ever since she was sick she is refusing bottle milk. I tried feeding her from bowl and spoon but she's refusing. Also she's fussy always. Now she's only demands breastfeeding. but I feel breastfeeding is not adequate. What could be the reason for her fussiness. How can I make her eat everything like she ate earlier.?

A. Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination. steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest. As a part of viral illness there couldb be associated symptoms like cough and fever which needs treatment accovhrdingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintained .
