A. By 5th or 6th month, you should start semi solid foods in baby's diet. Feeding only breastmilk is not at all sufficient for a 8 months old. Start feeding semi solid foods as soon as you can like lentil puree, mashed banana, apple, carrot and pear puree, mixed vegetable soup, khichdi, ragi and sooji porridge, etc. By now, baby should learn to chew the food slowly, therefore after introducing above foods, start giving finger foods too.
