Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 6 m old boy1 Year agoA. The stool patterns of young children can vary, with some passing stool more than 7 times a day, while others may not for up to 10 or 15 days. Consistency is key; if stools are semi-solid to solid or semi-liquid, there's no need to worry about frequency, color, or odor. Straining and crying during urination and defecation are normal and usually due to colixc pain, not constipation.
