Q.

my baby is 27 days old. after the delivery my milk came in late and the baby was given formula. he got so used to the bottle that he refused to latch. kept crying. in a week's time my supply has also reduced. am giving formula as well as pumping my milk in a bottle. what should I do to increase my milk supply and also baby latching.

A. Hi, as soon as Baby wakes up. Try to latch the baby directly. HOld baby in 30° angle position and make sure the Aerola is completely inside the mouth which will make baby to latch easily. After breastfeeding then give bottle feed. Try to avoid bottle feed first.Usually baby will get confuse between the breast feed and bottle feed. Once baby get used to bottle feed, baby will avoid latching directly. Have a healthy diet food like fibre and calcium rich food and take adequate liquid and keep yourself hydrated. Take five meals in a day. Do not give keep your self hunger.Take adequate liquid and keep yourself hydrated. Take Iron and calcium supplements until one year as suggested by your gynaecologist.Write Your Answer Here
