Q.

my baby is 22 months old.i breastfeed her.recently I have stated giving her cow milk.at night she has her dinner and milk before an hour to bed but still she wakes up at every fifteen minutes.she doesn't have constipation problem.i check her diaper.I have to take her on my lap and try to sleep her please help

A. Cow's milk should be given to the baby only after completion of 1 year of age because the protein and fat in cow's milk is hard to digest before that and many a times there could be cow's milk protein allergy in babies and lactose intolerance which could be severe somretimes. Also early introduction of cows milk can lead to iron deficiency anemia as cow's milk lacks iron and vit c . Also there could be micro bleeding in intestinge because of the heavy protein of cow's milk .
