Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. they are fontanelle and usually they will close by maximum 18 months of age and only sometimes by 2 years of age.
they are normally present in all infants and is important for the development growth of the brain
it is important to see that the child is not suffering from calcium and vitamin d deficiency as well as the child is not having any other complaints because their deficiency is the common cause of delayed closure of fontanelle.
meet dr as fontanelle should have closed by now
RashmiMom of a 11 yr old girl1 Year agoA. What do you mean by saying when you say head is still soft if you’re talking about that Center part in the head of the child then that can fill up by the age of 17 to 24 months sometimes and if it doesn’t happen by that age also in that case it would be good for you to get it checked with your doctor
