Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. it is totally normal for small children less than 6 months of age not to pass stool for 10 days also.
it is also normal if they are passing stool more than 6 or 7 times per day.
if the consistency of the stool is Semi solid to solid there is no need to worry about the frequency as well as the colour (the colour can range from yellow brown green to black) of the stool.
also straining while passing urine and stool is normal.
Do burping for 15 to 20 minutes
no need to worry about the smell in the stool if the consistency of the stool is normal.
it is very normal that the smell of the stooel would be slightly different in children less than 6 months of age due to the supplements they might be taking as well as due to the maturing digesting system.
if the weight gainr of the child is proper and the child is not having any other colic problems then no need to worry
POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy1 Year agoA. Starting with the first feeding, babies shift from obtaining nutrients from the placenta to drinking and digesting breast milk or formula. That's a big adjustment for a small digestive system that's still developing, and it's a chief reason that gas naturally occurs in infants.
