Q.

My baby is 2.5 months old and is exclusively breastfed. However I have cracked nipples now and feeding has become extremely painful. I am using nipple shield during feeds n applying nipple healing cream but is not helping. Can I express milk and supplement with formula for couple of days until the cracks heal and resume breast feeding? Please advise.

A. Hi dear mom Yes u can express ur milk and give feed to ur baby. There is no problem in that. But if ur breast feed is sufficient then do not give formula milk. As afterwards baby will be in habit of drinking formula milk and leave breast milk.
