Q.

My baby is 17 month old. He is late preterm baby. He was born at 36 weeks and his birth weight was 2.4. he js not gaining good weight. At 17 months his weight is only 8.4 kg. He is also fussy eater. pls suggest what can we do to increase his weight.

A. Dear mum, try to give food in an attractive manner, interesting shapes of bread and parantha, colourful combination of cut fruits. Fussy eating behaviour is very common at this age. You have to be patient and keep trying. Try to mix foods which your baby likes with the ones which your baby does not like. Don’t force feed. Give homemade balanced diet having variety of food groups especially seasonal fruits and vegetables even green leafy vegetables. At least 500 ml of milk and milk products like curd, paneer, cheese. Eggs and non veg foods. Nuts like almonds.

A. Mam I tried giving him milk as banana shake, milk shake but he is not accepting. pls suggest
