Q.

my baby is 12 weeks old now. she has always preferred right breast over left one as left nipple is smaller and difficult to latch most of the times from beginning. over last 1 month she almost stopped latching on left breast and has been mostly only feeding on right one. Now once in 2-3 days i feel some milk in my left breast. It's getting reduced even more. does this mean my baby is loosing half of the milk? feeding baby only on 1 breast, will ot be sufficient for the baby?

A. first of all meet your doctor and get the weight of the child assessment done. if the weight gain of the child is within normal limits as well as the urine output is normal then do not worry about the feeding pattern, the sleeping pattern and the crying pattern of the child. your doctor is the best person to tell you whether any outside milk is required or not until that time kindly continue only breastfeedinsg. continue exclusive breastfeeding till 6 months of age of the child. small all children take demand feeding that is when they feel hungry xthey will take feeding. .
