Q.

My baby is 1 year and 5 months old and weighs 8.6kg. she is having fever of 101.9f in armpit. Gave her dolo drops of 1 ml and temperature was fine for two hours then again temperature came. what to do when temperature increases before next schedule of dolo/paracetamol drops.

A. give 1.5ml for fever whenever fever is not improving with paracetamol you will have to see if the dosage of the medicine is given according to the weight of the child or not and if the power of the paracetamol is proper. also if the medicine is older than one month after opening then better to buy a new bottle. you have to give paracetamol and also do body sponge and keep the child in cotton clothes. after 2 hours of paracetamol if the fever is is not improving then you can go for higher medicines like ibugesic or meftal p. paracetamol can be given maximum four times per day.

A. hi parent the gap between two dosages of the paracetamol should be mkre than four to five hours so please consult your doctor as well please make sure to keep her well hydrated by giving her breast milk and water use simply purified water having tds higher than 350 and keep her well hydrated by giving her a spoon of lukewarm water every hour when she's awake
