Q.

My baby is 1 year 1 month old. She has a lot of trouble while sleeping. She takes 1 nap in the day time for 1-2 hours in between 2-4 pm. I spend almost 1-2 hours daily in making her sleep both day & night time. At night also she sleeps by 1.30-2.00 am. I make sure that I make her comfortable by feeding her, not exposing to excess heat or cold& other disturbances. But yet she finds it difficult to sleep as she just wants to keep playing. How to I assist her in sleeping in time.

A. this happens in small babies. Sleep is important for brain growth and development. For a good sleep baby should be well fed at bed time. Room should be comfortable and quiet. You can sing a lullaby or play some light music. Can use swinging or rocking also. Day night variations are quite common in babies and can be corrected by sleep training as per family schedule
