A. Tight or hard poop in babies is often due to constipation, which can happen if the baby is not getting enough fluids, is starting solid foods, or consuming low-fiber foods. At home, you can help by offering more water (if the baby is over 6 months), and giving pureed fruits like prunes, pears, or papaya. A gentle tummy massage, warm bath, or bicycle leg movements can also ease stool passage. If your baby is formula-fed, check with your doctor if a different formula may help. If the problem continues or baby is in pain, consult your pediatrician.
