Q.

My baby has started teething and is very restless and is not sleeping well at night since last 2 weeks. Local doctors have suggested Phenargan (5ml) x3 times a day. I am currently giving it once before bedtime (5ml) in the entire day. It is not seeming to help with his night sleep. As a result he is more irritable throughout the day. What can i do ? Also, how long is it advisable to give Phenargan to babies?

A. it's nromal for this. teething problems can start as early as 4 months of age . Signs can be crying baby , irritability , cranky , drooling of saliva , gum swelling and taking everything in to mouth for chewing . Massage gums gently for relief , can give a silicon or wooden teether for ease and continue giving vit d 3 1 ml daily for smooth dentition .
