Q.
my baby has got cold n cough its been 7days..for 4 days we gave him maxtra drops twice n after showing to doctor we r giving him brozeet LS n wikoryl drops 0.7 ml twice a day...cold n cough have reduced but not gone completely, wat shd we do..baby is active otherwise only at time cranky when he has nose block or running nose

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cold most of the time is a viral illness where there could be running nose sneezing along with cough and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration . steam inhalation will also be useful in this .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be used oncet a proper evaluation by the doctor is done and according to the type of cough its prescribed.
if anfy fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the temperature and the dose can be repeated again after 6 hours if required .

please complete the course of medicine as per your doctor's prescription
along with that , I advise to apply Babyhug rapid relief rub on chest and back of your child.
give indirect steam inhalation
give Sunbath for 20 minutes a day
