My baby has cough with sputum from yesterday midnight. which oral solution I can use to reduce. He is not sleeping because of cough

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 6 m old boy4 years agoA. you can give nasal saline drops and warm water to drink This can occur due to weather changes or simple cold kindly give nasal saline drops every three hourly and since it is a salt water it does not have any side effects and can be given again and again for nasal blockage and try to prevent temperature variations on the child and you can also give indirect steam inhalation and if there is no improvement in 2 or 3 days then meet your doctor

Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which shouldcd be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor accgording to the type of cough. if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .
