Cough and Cold along with the symptom like Fever loss of appetite irritability could be a feature of viral infection or seasonal flu where most of the time supportive treatment is given. along with that cough expectorant and decongestant with antiallergic medicine given. steam inhalation can be given frequbently to relieve the symptoms.gu

Put a five month old child has no such home remedies I would only advise you to nebulise your child if you have that available with the saline water into the machine that is only going to help otherwise you have to go for proper medication with the doctor
