A. If your baby has rashes, reducing them depends on the cause, but here are general steps that help in most cases: Keep the area clean and dry – Gently wash with lukewarm water and pat dry. Avoid using soap or wipes with fragrance – Use mild, fragrance-free products. Apply a soothing cream or ointment, like: Diaper rash: Use zinc oxide cream (e.g., Desitin, Sebamed rash cream). Heat rash: Keep the baby cool and apply calamine lotion. Allergy rash: Apply a mild moisturizer (like Cetaphil or Aveeno baby cream). Let the skin breathe – Avoid tight clothes and leave the area uncovered when possible. Change diapers frequently – Every 2–3 hours or immediately after passing stool. If rashes worsen, spread, become red or oozy, or your baby has a fever, consult a pediatrician—it could be an infection, eczema, or allergy.
