Q.

My baby got iron strains ( black and brown color) on her teeth. These strains are not getting removed by doing brush also. I just want to know whether these strains can impact permanent teeths in any way or not.

A. Hi. yes intake of iron supplements causes brownish black discoloration of the teeth. give the medication mixed with water or fruit juices. consult with your pediatrician for either discontinuation of medication if there's no deficiency or any alternative.

A. Actually it happened due to daily intake of corn flakes. I contacted pediatrician, she told me to brush after every meal but I forgot to ask whether it can impact permanent teeth or not. I am confused and worried about permanent teeths only

A. See Is a temporary ones only because you are giving I don’t supplement to the child which is why this is happening maybe but don’t worry it is not going to affect the permanent teeth of your child still if at any point of time you have any confusion consult a child dentist once
