Q.

my baby girl was an IUGR baby born in 37 weeks her birth weight was 1.62 kg and now she is 1.72 kgs, but after 15 days of birth she haven't gained the weight Can I breastfeed her along with the formula now & how much time it takes to gain the weight I'm very much worried about her weight she is now 23 days baby currently am just feeding her with the formula only

A. Yes, yes, you should give breast feeding to the baby. This is the most important source to the baby for nutrition. Try to give more of breastfeeding and avoid formula feed use so that baby grows properly formula feed- Not as efficiently utilized/absorbed as breast milk.Nutritional content depends on proper preparation (human error).Some babies have difficulty tolerating certain nutrients Breastfeed- Contains high levels of nutrients Easily digested and absorbed Content varies according to the milk production stage, which meets the changing nutrition requirements.

A. Will she loose the energy while latching during breastfeeding which will loose her weight as well
