A. When babies are introduced to solid foods, it is not uncommon for a baby to get constipated. Avoid giving bananas, rice, cereals, cheese and carrots as they lack fibre. Offer fibre rich foods to add dietary roughage and keep constipation at bay. Is the baby on formula milk? If yes, try changing the brand of formula milk after consulting with your doctor. Offer a few sips of water or apple or prune juice after feeding sessions. Give ample tummy time to your baby. Softly bicycle his legs while the baby rests on his or her back. Gentle tummy massages and regular tummy time helps with baby's discomfort.
