Q.

my baby boy birth weight was 2.76kg. at 9 months old, he weighs 8.2kg. is this normal he was around 9 kgs in last month. he had cold n cough for 10 days and aft that his weight reduced now to 8.2kg

A. Good Growth of the child is very important and for this most important is that child should take a healthy diet where its necessary to give a balance diet which should contain all the nutrition required. This is very important for building the immunity also. Encourage for green vegetables fruits dairy products all kinds of dal and other protein containing food items like soyabean eggs etc. Some nutritional deficiencies can be a cause for less appetite huilike iron deficiency which is most common. Supplements like iron supplements and multivitamin with lysine like syp zincovit CL can ber given for 1-2 months to increase the appetite. Diet counselling is also very important .
