A. It is common for some 8-month-old babies, especially those who are breastfed or eating mostly liquid diets, to have frequent bowel movements—sometimes even after every feeding. If the stools are soft but not watery, and your baby is feeding well, gaining weight, and seems comfortable, this is usually normal. However, if the stools are very watery, foul-smelling, contain mucus or blood, or if your baby shows signs of discomfort, dehydration, or poor weight gain, you should consult your pediatrician to rule out infections or other issues.
