A. Hi, there could be various reasons for the baby to cry. 1- It could be abdominal pain-colic/ indigestion/ discomfort due to constipation 2- It could be hunger 3- The need of changing the diaper 4- May be some comfort from the elders You can try massage on tummy, do cycling motions using both the legs. If it's colic, baby should feel better. Also, as the baby is 8 months old, you must be giving solids too. Don't give more, introduce slowly and give little amount. Hoping you are not giving cow milk. At this age give only breast milk or formula milk. Formula milk like Aptamil Gold stage 2 comes with prebiotics which helps in keeping the gut healthy, so lessser chance of stomach related issues. Give few sips of water too. Lastly, if the baby is crying continuously then consult the doc asap and get it ruled out.

A. there are number of reasons of excessive crying in children because it can be either due to some type of colic pain or digestion problem or due to some type of nasal blockage abdominal pain or any body pain / ear ache. so if it is not improving meet your doctor and for pain you can give one dosage of paracetamol. if it appears to be colic pain you can give anti colic medicine and if it is due to nasal blockxage you can give nasal saline dxrops. many times changing the environment of the child helps as well as diverting the child helps.
