Q.

My 4month old has diarrhea and cough n cold since Monday. she is on antibiotics and cough syrup prescribed by doc. Her diarrhea or loose motions seems to be a little better now. With the diarrhea it was hard to tell her urine output but since today morning I have noticed that the baby has not peed enough. Should I be concerned about her urine output? What is the normal urine output for 4month old? What should I do in this situation? please help.

A. urinary pattern in small children is totally different. they may pass more than 20 times per day urine also and sometimes they will pass urine again and again in only one hour. the minimum requirement would be more than 7 times in 24 hours. if it is less give morxe breast feeding or milk and if it is more no need to worry if the child is not having any other complaint. there is no problem if the urine frequency is normal and the child is not passing urine at night
