Q.
My 4month old baby is exclusively breast milk fed. However, he has developed habit of passing stool once in a week. Normal stool, not constipated. this time its 8-9days and he hasn't pooped. It is ok or should I consult doctor? He is not at all cranky but keeps on passing gas. He even pees less.

ExpertDr. Mohammed imranPaediatrician3 years agoA. it's normal Constipation is common in exclusively breastfed babies feed the baby in sitting and c arm position burp everytime after feeding do cycling exercise wait till 10 days if the problem perissts kindly consult your doctor

Jasmine KaurTrying To Conceive3 years agoA. Hello dear parent, babies upto 6 months of age can hold their poop for 7 days but beyond that period you must consult with your paediatric . To prevent this situation you must burp your baby after every feed by holding him in upright position and massage his back for 20 mins and 4 burps are necessary. Good luck and take care
