Father of a 2 yr 5 m old boy2 years ago
Q.

My 4 month baby is not sleeping the entire night. He is awake from 11 pm approx till 6 am or even 8 am sometimes. Sometimes sleeps for half or an hour in between He is active and playful the entire night. No colic or other issues. What can we do to make him sleep at night or set a routine? We have tried - massage, swaddle, keeping the room cool, feeding at the right times, jhula, cradle, trying to make him sleep on lap, music, white noise, dim lights, changing to night clothes, etc. This has been happening since past 2 weeks. Feeding, pee count, poop is normal. Please help

A. He is exclusively breastfeed so no other food. We have giving colic aid and other medicines regularly thinking it might be issue. There was a place change 3 weeks back but I think it should settle now. We also put AC and keep room cool which he likes.

A. at this age if there is disturbance and sleep it might be due to some type of physical disturbance or due to environmental disturbance. you have to rule out teething pain which might be causing discomfort. see for any gastric problem like gas or digestion problem (constipation/ diarrhoea) due to the food the child might be consuming which might be causing discomfort. you can give feed to the child because sometimes due to hunger the child mfight not be able to sleep environmental disturbance like temperature variations which might be either hot or cold weather. change in pillow or mattress. changing the place of sleeping can also disturb tdhe sleep
