Q.

My 3 year son is having grade 4 adenoid hypertrophy and scale 2 normal tonsils. ENT specialist suggested adenotonsillectomy instead of adenoidectomy as he says that the tonsil is sure to get swollen without adenoids to share the function. Is removing tonsils along with adenoids common and if so what are the long term impacts?
