Q.

My 3½ year old daughter does not ask to go to the washroom at school ie does not urinate. She does not urinate for 6 hours. She does it when she gets home. Is there any problem with this?

A. I would recommend you to talk to your child and the school authorities to have a clean washroom where they should be no smell second this is for you it’s alarming if your child is not passing urine for such long time because this actually increases the chance of having urinal infection and a lot of times it could possibly be a UTI which is going to be very bad for the child so please take care of the child is really small you have to constantly keep counselling to use the washroom as well as make sure the school washrooms are clean you if you have to please talk to the management for further Improvement in the status of the washroom

A. Yes madam ur right there is a slight smell. I think so too. I think she will be not comfortable there. After coming home, she urinates at least 4-6 times till she sleeps. She stays at school from 9.15 am to 3.30 pm

A. Look two or three issues which is associated with what you’re mentioning First could be that your child is not very comfortable urinating with any other person like Didi in the school is meant to guide them and take them to the washroom second the urinal could be really dirty that’s why the child is not interested in going to the washroom and third could be the child has gotten into the habit of controlling it you know that the child is not comfortable in going into any other place without you so try to talk to your child try to check the other two issues also that I mention it
