Q.
My 3 and a half month old baby keeps his head on one side only to suck his thumb. His head shape is being pressed from that one side, i have tried many times to keep him either straight or on another side, but he turns his head. He doesn't stay on a pillow or homemade round pillow, even in th night as well. Please suggest what shud be done.

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy4 years agoA. do not worry much about the flat head because it will correct by itself with increasing age of the child
FLAT HEAD: due to pressure on one side of the head during sleeping there is flatness on that side of the head. no treatment is required for flat head and you will see that by one year to two years of age the flat head will go away as soon as the child begins to sit and letter walk.
pillows will not help much in this case so do not worry.
due to elasticity in the bones initially there was flat head and later also due to elasticity the bones will become normal when the pressure on that side of the head goes away

U Should make sure your child is not sleeping on the same side lying on the same side where it is Press from because otherwise it is going to be permanent I’m just going to say make sure that your child is sleeping on the other side or lying on the other side always all on back of the head
