Q.

my 2year's baby passing stool with mucus what is the reason for that what should please let me know she is not passing like loose motion normal motion with mucus

A. mucus in the stool is very common phenomenon. it is usually present due to the throat mucus / thick saliva as well as respiratory secretions which pass on from respiratory tract (parts of nasal cavity , oral cavity and throat) to the gastrointestinal tract by swallowing and then comes out through the anal canal mixed witzh the stool. it may be present in less quantity during regular times and would be in more quantity during allergy as well as cough zand cold in the child. mucus in the stool is also associated with gastrointestinal infections as a less constipation as well as indigestion. treatment is usually given according to the cause
