Q.
My 2 month old baby shake his legs for 5-6 seconds twice in a day and it stops on its own. it also stops when we hold the leg. is it normal?

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 7 m old boy3 years agoA. shivering in newborn can be due to startle reflex and less likely due to calcium ddeficiency. kindly continue to give breastfeeding to the child and take a video of the shivering and meet your doctor who will tell you whether it is normal startle reflex or it is due to hypocalcemia.

Ankita MehtaMom of a 9 yr 3 m old girl3 years agoA. hi yes it is normal. as such no need to worry. but if the frequency of doing this is high and if a child is not gaining enough weight,not achieving age appropriate milestones then you should consult your pediatrician.
