Q.
My 17th months baby have High grade fever for last two days..and also produce cough, I give him syp PCM QID and syp cetrizine hs. He is less active and not including his Play. Please consult me, this is viral fever or something another type fever??

Fever is a response of the body to any kind of infection or any inflammatory process in body so yofu can give paracetamol in a dose of 15 mg/kg/dose as the first line treatment also this dose can be again repeated after every 5 to 6 hours if fever is rfepeating. and you can also do cold sponging of the body if required

If The fever does not subside in three days completely then go for a blood test to know whether it is a viral infection also start doing cold sponging on the body and behind the knees that is going to help in reducing down the temperature really fast along with the medicines
