Q.

my 15months old daughter going to get the vaccination of measles on 28th december but now she is having cood and cough. So can we give her vaccine on 28th.

A. simple cough and cold, low grade fever, loose motions etc as well as simple discomfort of the child for a few days is not a contraindication for vaccination and it is advisable to go for vaccination at the earliest. the maximum you can delay would be around 2-3 weeks but after that it is adxvisable not to delay the vaccination. in severe illness only vaccination should be delayed. if still in confusion you can meet your doctor who will examine the child and tell you whether vaccination delay is preferable or you can go for vaccination
