Q.

my 13 months old daughter is suffering from severe constipation.. she isn't passing stools regularly and straining and crying alot while passing hard and dry stools.. she is eating fruits, formulated milk, dal, roti etc... can anyone suggest me good laxative for her? i have used glycerine suppository but stools not passing and suppository came out twice or thrice...

A. happens due to dehydration and lack of fibre diet. offer more liquid and fruits for adequate hydration. prefer fibre rich diet as khichdi Dalia oats etc with added fruit and vegetables

A. Prune juice for baby constipation The phenolic compounds in dried plums and prune juice are also effective laxatives. If your child is over 1 year old, it's generally safe to give them prune juice in small amounts to relieve constipation.
