my 10 days old new born has not passed stools since 2 days and she is on ossopan d for calcium deficiency, is it a sign to be careful about

A. Stool pattern of small children changes from time to time. It can be more than 7 times per day also and sometimes the child will not pass stool for 10 days also. The most important thing is the consistency of the stool and if it is Semi solid to solied or semi liquid then there is no need to worry about the frequency as well as colour as well as the smell of the stool Also straining and crying while passing urine and stool is very normal. the cryineg of the child is due to colic pain and not due to constipation

A. Hello dear parent, babies upto 6 months of age can hold their poop for 7 days but beyond that period you must consult with your paediatric once for proper examination. To prevent this situation you must burp your baby after every feed by holding him in upright position and massage his back for 20 mins and 4 burps are necessary. Good luck and take care
