When breast milk is not completely available then the baby has to be fed either donor breast milk or formula. Formulas are processed and enriched with nutrients to meet the growth needs of babies although they aren’t the best option, atleast it’s not hazardous. But ofcourse we don’t know the long term effects yet. Make sure to follow the actual reconstitution. Do not over dilute or over thicken the formula. Once prepared should be fed immediately or atleast within half an hour. Above all, I would still suggest you to consult an international board certified lactation consultant (available in India) or a certified lactation consultant to help you with re-lactation.
