Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy4 years agoA. you have to rule out local infection because many times small amount of infection may continue so it is important to meet your doctor and maintain hygiene of the stitch area

Keeping the area dry and clean.
Use warm, soapy water to wash your incision daily (usually when you shower). Pat the area dry after cleaning.
If your doctor used tape strips on your incision, let them fall off on their own. This usually takes about a week.
